Chanukah is about the first time in Jewish History where our survival was threatened by a culture. From a closer look, the challenge of Chanukah arose because of the similarities between Athens and Jerusalem, and not the differences. There is no question that Greek culture has left its mark on Judaism. A Culture Clash examines some key aspects in which Hellenism and Judaism overlap, and the subtle differences which make all the difference in the world.
